Clinical Professor of Surgery / Urology Co-Director, Women’s Pelvic Medical Center University of California, San Diego Division of Urology
Michael E. Albo, MD, is Clinical Professor of Surgery/Urology in the Division of Urology and Co-Director of the Women’s Pelvic Medicine Center at the University of California, San Diego. In addition, he is Urology Section Chief at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in La Jolla, California. Dr. Albo earned his medical degree from the University of Utah College of Medicine in Salt Lake City in 1988. He went on to complete a residency in Urology at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center in Charlottesville, Virginia, and a fellowship in Female Urology and Urodynamics at the University of California, Los Angeles Health Sciences Center. He has been on the faculty at the University of California, San Diego Medical School since 1996.
An active researcher, Dr. Albo is the Principal Investigator at UCSD for the NIH’s Urinary Incontinence Treatment Network and a Co-Investigator in the Pelvic Floor Disorders Network. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Urolgogic Association, Society for Female Urology and Urodynamics, the American Urogynecology Society, and the International Continence Society. He is a reviewer for a number of peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Urology, Neurourology and Urodynamics, and Urology and he presents frequently on the subject of urinary incontinence. |
